Australia Student Visa English Scores 2026: Two Numbers, Not One

The score that gets you an Australian student visa and the score that gets you into the course are two different numbers, and confusing them is the most common reason applicants aim at the wrong target. Home Affairs asks IELTS 6.0 or roughly PTE 50. Universities routinely want 6.5 or PTE 58 to 65. Clear one and miss the other and you have a visa application with no offer to attach to it.
