DKU testing policy

Should you still send an IELTS score?
DKU says applicants are welcome to submit English test results to support their application. If English is not your first language and your school was not English-medium, a strong IELTS score is one way to show you can handle an English-taught liberal arts degree.
Applicants who do not send SAT or ACT scores have no extra requirements but may add other materials, such as national or external exam results.

Before you apply
This policy covers undergraduate admission. DKU's graduate programmes run their own admissions, so check the programme page if you are applying for a master's.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your DKU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Duke Kunshan University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
