EdUHK general English requirements

India, Pakistan and Nigeria
India: a Grade 12 senior secondary leaving certificate with 75% or better in each Standard XII subject. At least 70% in Grade 12 English in SSC, HSC or ISC can replace the English test.
Pakistan: the Higher Secondary School Certificate with 80% or above in each of the six subjects, plus the general English requirement.
Nigeria: WASSCE or NECO Senior School Certificate. A C6 in WASSCE English can meet the English requirement.

Programme rules and how to check
Individual programmes may ask for a higher level in particular subjects, and EdUHK's non-local applicants page tells applicants to check each programme's website for entrance requirements. Postgraduate requirements are also set by programme.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your EdUHK programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
