Other ways to meet the requirement
Undergraduates can instead show 24 transferable hours from a regionally accredited US institution, including English 1310 and English 1320. SAT and ACT are not required unless you use them as proof of English proficiency.
Graduate applicants need proof of English if English is not their native language or was not the language of instruction for their undergraduate degree. PTE is not listed.

After you apply
The undergraduate application is free and the graduate fee is $50. After admission, McMurry asks for a $2,500 enrollment and housing deposit and financial documents before it posts your I-20. Individual graduate programmes may ask for more.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your McMurry programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where McMurry University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
