What IELTS score do you need for Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)?

NOVA also accepts IB English Language A (Language/Literature) or English Language B at Higher Level with a 4 or above for ENG 111, and its own Accuplacer test, which is only available in person at a NOVA campus testing centre. The page lists TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, Oxford ELLT, IB, SAT, ACT and Accuplacer as accepted for placement; it does not list PTE.

You do not need a score if you are a citizen of a listed English-speaking country, which includes the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and South Sudan. Citizens of those countries go straight into the associate degree programme. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria are not on the list.

The page puts the yearly cost you must show at $27,690 for the Intensive English Program and $31,700 for the ESL Pathway or associate degree. Applicants outside the US apply from 1 February to 1 May for autumn and from 1 August to 15 October for spring. The application fee is $75 and you must be 18 by the first day of classes, or have a parent or legal guardian complete NOVA's consent form.

Requirements and placement levels change between terms. The score that binds you is the one on NOVA's international admissions page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
