Placement test and Foundation
IELTS, TOEFL and SAT scores may be accepted instead of the UDST placement tests, subject to the university's current minimums, validity periods and programme rules. Applicants who score below the degree level can still enter through the Foundation program if their English placement score is at least 35; below 35 they are not eligible for admission, including Foundation.
Bachelor's and diploma applicants also need a final-year high school average of at least 60%. For master's study, IELTS and TOEFL must be valid within two years. PTE and Duolingo are not listed.

How to check
Some master's programmes also require an interview, professional experience or a professional licence, set out on each programme page. Meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UDST programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
