Test rules at Bilkent
The score sheet must be sent directly from ETS to Bilkent University using code 0620. External exam results must be within their two-year validity period at the time of registration, and the School of English Language can check a result's validity and decline it.
TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. The page above gives only 0 to 120 figures, so that is what this guide reports.
On the same page, Bilkent asks IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each section.

If your TOEFL score falls short
Students below the level join the English Language Preparatory Program. Prep students who want to sit an external exam to leave it must tell the programme in writing at least 21 days before the exam, and can only sit it at centres and on dates Bilkent has announced. Bilkent's own proficiency exam is the other route out.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Bilkent programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
