How BYU handles TOEFL scores
Every section must reach 20 as well as the overall total. BYU advises registering for English tests and credential evaluation at least two to three months before the deadline, and registering for the test under your name exactly as it appears on your passport so electronic scores match your application.

If your TOEFL score is below BYU's level
The guide offers no conditional admission. If you do not meet the requirement, BYU encourages you to improve your English and retest.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your BYU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
