What TOEFL score do you need for California Baptist University?

Neither page sets TOEFL section minimums, although the IELTS, Duolingo and MET figures carry band floors. Graduate students must also have completed ENG123 Intermediate Composition or an equivalent, in addition to showing English proficiency.

TOEFL iBT score reports from January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score; our guide to the new TOEFL score scale explains how the two scales appear on a report.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 5.5 with no band below 4.5, and the graduate page sets 6.0 with no band below 5.0 for master's level and 8.0 for doctoral level.

A graduate applicant whose score is below the minimum may be granted conditional admission to the Intensive English Program and a graduate programme, taking language coursework before starting full graduate-level study. CBU says this is not available for all graduate programmes. The undergraduate page also accepts SAT, ACT, Cambridge and other results.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your California Baptist programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
