Can you take Linguaskill at home?

Linguaskill has two delivery options: in a centre with an invigilator, or at a remote venue with online invigilation, with AI monitoring in both. Cambridge says you can take it at a time and place that suits you. You book through a Linguaskill centre, and a remote test needs a supported computer, webcam and boom-microphone headset.

How remote Linguaskill works

Cambridge's delivery page describes the two options: in a centre with an invigilator, or at a remote venue with online invigilation. AI monitoring runs throughout both and flags concerns. The test runs through the Cambridge English test portal.

The test-taker page says Linguaskill is on demand and can be taken at a time and place that suits you, and points you to a Linguaskill centre to book. Ask the centre whether it offers remote sessions and whether your organisation accepts them.

Remote results take a little longer

For sessions of up to 500 candidates, results take 6 to 8 days remotely against 3 to 5 days in a centre (Cambridge). Cambridge says the Talview Secure Browser must be installed where it is used, though it is not yet mandatory, and it cannot be used on Chromebooks (Cambridge). Rules and fees change. Check the test owner's own page for your country before you book or pay. This guide is general information, not official advice from the test owner.
