How College of Charleston handles TOEFL scores

Undergraduate scores go to code 5113. The graduate page says score reports must come directly from the testing agency and gives only the 0 to 120 figure. Neither page states a MyBest or Home Edition rule or a validity window.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

For comparison, the undergraduate page and the graduate page both set IELTS at 6.5.

If your TOEFL score is below College of Charleston's level

Neither page describes a conditional or pathway route. The graduate requirement may be waived for students who attended a US university or whose coursework was taught primarily in English, with documentation. Undergraduates can also meet the requirement with SAT, ACT, Duolingo or iTEP scores at the levels the page lists.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your College of Charleston programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
