How to request
These are the steps on Duolingo's accommodation help page.

| 1 | Log in at englishtest.duolingo.com, or create an account first |
| 2 | Go to the accommodations page |
| 3 | Complete the form; if a 'Please specify condition' box appears, you must fill it in |
| 4 | Attach any supporting documents with CHOOSE FILE |
| 5 | Click SUBMIT REQUEST |
A supervisor replies to the email address on your Duolingo English Test account within three business days (help centre). Paid test credits expire 21 days after purchase and cannot be extended (help centre), so it is sensible to have your answer before you buy.

Hearing aids and head coverings
Before the test you scan both ears with your phone to confirm no earbuds are in use. If you use hearing aids, submit an accommodation request before you take the test (help centre). Headphones and earbuds are otherwise not allowed (rules).
If you wear a religious head covering, go through the ear scan as normal; you do not need to show your ears, but follow the on-screen instructions (help centre).
