When studies in English replace a test

A test can be replaced by completing your previous level of education in the USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada or New Zealand, or by completing it fully in English in an EU/EEA country, with the transcript saying so.

EBS states that students from other countries must present a recognised test even if they studied in English. That means English-medium graduates from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria need IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge or Duolingo. PTE is not on the list.

Interview, deadlines and fees

Every applicant has an admission interview in English of about 20 minutes, held once a month. Non-EU bachelor's applicants apply between 1 September and 1 April. Bachelor's fees per semester are EUR 4,050 and 3,680 for International Business Administration, and EUR 4,050 for each semester of Product and Technology Management.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your EBS programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.

Minimum vs competitive score

Where Estonian Business School (EBS) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.

Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.

If you are close to the line, aim for a margin above it: one weak skill can miss the requirement even when the overall band clears it. Not sure where you stand? Take a free IELTS mock test and get a band for each skill.
