What TOEFL score do you need for Florida Gulf Coast University?

The undergraduate page asks for official scores sent to FGCU and no more than two years old. It adds that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Scores received by the university become FGCU's property and cannot be transferred.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

For comparison, both the undergraduate and graduate pages set IELTS at 6.5.

Both pages accept Duolingo 110. Graduate applicants can also meet the requirement with English Composition I and II (ENC 1101 and ENC 1102) at grade C or higher, or 60 credits at an accredited institution where all courses are taught in English, among other listed options.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your FGCU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
