GUtech English scores for direct admission

Exemptions and transfers
The International Office FAQ says IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 76 gives unconditional admission, and that graduates with an International Baccalaureate or GCE certificate do not need to show English proficiency. Transfer students need IELTS 6.0 or equivalent and must have completed a foundation programme.
For the MSc Computer Science, the 6.0 must be in hand when you submit the application. If you are waiting for results, the programme asks you to email pg.cs@gutech.edu.om.

GUbridge Foundation Programme
GUbridge is offered to applicants who do not meet the direct-admission requirements. GUtech does not state a separate IELTS score for entering it. GED students with IGCSE or O-level English may be eligible for direct entry.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your GUtech programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
