How to book, what ID to bring, and when results arrive
IELTS: book online in the British Council's booking system, choose Freetown and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. IDP does not run IELTS in Sierra Leone. Bring the identity document you registered with.
PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your passport, choose the test, then a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport for every PTE test; an alternative ID is possible only for citizens testing at home in countries on its exceptions list, so check that list before relying on a national ID card.
Results: both IELTS providers list results in 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test to check you are ready.
