Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Madrid?

Pearson's test centre finder listed 2 test centres in Spain, in Madrid and Barcelona on 30 October 2026. Spain's other PTE centre is in Barcelona. Both charge the same national fee.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 in the British Council's booking system, IDP's Madrid page and Pearson's fee finder with Spain selected. IELTS costs the same at every Madrid venue, and PTE Academic is EUR 24 cheaper.

Pearson charges EUR 260 for PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core in Spain, and EUR 220 for PTE Home A1, A2 or B1. Refund and transfer rules are in our IELTS fee in Spain guide.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Madrid and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Bring the same identity document you entered when you booked.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then the city, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport for PTE Academic; if you test outside your country of citizenship, a passport is the only ID accepted, and in your own country another ID is allowed only where Pearson's exceptions list says so.

Results: both IELTS providers list results in 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test to check you are ready.
