What IELTS score do you need as a paramedic in New Zealand?

There is no paramedicine-specific OET, so the Council accepts an equivalent pass in the OET for any other registered health profession.

Results must be valid at the time registration is approved, not when you submit the application. The Council says to allow at least eight weeks to process a fully completed overseas application.

You meet the requirement if you declare English is your first language and completed undergraduate paramedic training in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada or the USA. Paramedics registered in Australia applying under trans-Tasman mutual recognition are accepted on the basis of Ahpra's English rules.
