What IELTS score do you need for Kwansei Gakuin University?

For International Studies, applicants whose first language is not English must submit a score taken within two years before applying (EIKEN excepted). Kwansei Gakuin defines a first-language English speaker narrowly: 12 years of English-based education in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand plus high school graduation. International-school students elsewhere do not count, so most applicants from South Asia and Africa need a test.

TOEFL iBT Home Edition is not accepted for International Studies, and TOEFL tests from 21 January 2026 are judged on the previous scale. The IBA says its score is required regardless of the university you graduated from or your nationality, so an English-medium degree does not exempt you.

The International Studies International Admission 2027 has two application periods: 25 August to 1 September 2026 and 5 to 12 November 2026. The IBA FAQ does not state a score validity period.
