What TOEFL score do you need for Lingnan University?

The score must be achieved in one sitting, and Lingnan does not accept the MyBest score. Both the standard internet-based test and the iBT Home Edition count.

In the same document, IELTS needs an overall band of 6.0 in the Academic Module, and One Skill Retake is accepted.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. The document gives only 0 to 120 figures, so that is what this guide reports.

Lingnan lists other qualifications that meet the requirement, including IB English grades and the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score. The document does not describe a conditional route for a lower TOEFL score.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Lingnan programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
