What TOEFL score do you need for Michigan Tech?

Undergraduate applicants send official scores electronically from ETS to institution code 1464. Test scores must be from within two years (24 months) of your intended enrolment at both levels.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in speaking and writing, and the graduate page sets it at 6.5 overall.

Both pages say Michigan Tech does not currently offer an ESL programme, and the undergraduate page adds that it does not accept English proficiency waivers. So there is no conditional route on campus; you need a qualifying score. Graduate applicants from certain countries are exempt from the test under the Graduate School's list of exempt countries.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Michigan Tech programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
