What TOEFL score do you need for North Carolina A&T State University?

The Graduate College needs the official score sent directly by the testing agency, and treats TOEFL scores as reportable for two years from the exam date; older scores must be retaken. The undergraduate page names TOEFL code 5003.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 6.5 and the Graduate College at 6.0.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

Graduate applicants can meet the requirement by completing American Language Academy or Interlink English Level 5, or as recent completers of a CEA-accredited language academy at a level that meets unconditional admission at its affiliated graduate school. Undergraduates can use the INTERLINK Language Program at UNCG, an SAT reading score of 400 or six hours of transferable US college English.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NC A&T programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
