What IELTS score do you need for Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg?

Data and Knowledge Engineering needs C1 and warns applicants to read the C1 column, not B2. International Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship also needs C1.

Exempt applicants include those with school leaving certificates from Australia, Canada (except Quebec and New Brunswick) and the USA, GCE A-levels, the Irish Leaving Certificate, the IB Diploma (English Language A or B HL), and degrees completed in Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand or the USA. Several Caribbean countries and Malta are also listed.

An English-medium degree from India, Pakistan, Nigeria or Bangladesh is not on the exemption list, so plan on a test.

OVGU notes that TOEFL introduced a new scoring scale from 21 January 2026; the page gives the scores above on the 0 to 120 scale. Most international applicants apply through uni-assist, which checks language certificates.
