How Seneca handles Duolingo results

Only English tests taken in the last two years are considered valid. Seneca says its figures are minimum cut-offs and do not guarantee admission; highly competitive programmes offer seats to the most qualified applicants, ranked from highest to lowest. The page gives no Duolingo subscore requirement.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS Academic at 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 for certificates and diplomas, and 6.5 with no skill below 6.0 for degrees, master's and graduate certificates.

If your Duolingo score is below the minimum

Seneca also accepts completion of an intensive English programme, such as its English Language Institute, as proof of English, along with two years of full-time study in a school and country where English is the primary language, or one year at postsecondary level.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Seneca programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
