How SFU handles TOEFL scores

Both pages say scores must be achieved in a single test: TOEFL MyBest (super-scored) and TOEFL Essentials results will not be used, and TOEFL iBT Home is accepted. Results must be sent from ETS. SFU's institution code is 0999 and no department code is needed. Undergraduate tests taken more than two years (24 months) before application are not considered; graduate scores are valid for two years from the test date and must be valid when submitted.

For comparison, the undergraduate page and the graduate page both set IELTS Academic at 6.5 overall with no part below 6.0.

If your TOEFL score is below SFU's level

The undergraduate page offers no conditional route for a low TOEFL score. Graduate applicants who miss the minimum may be admitted as a qualifying student or with conditional admission; SFU asks you to contact your programme to discuss these options.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your SFU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
