Sophia English test rules
From Sophia's English-taught undergraduate FAQ:

Standardised tests still needed
Separate from English, every applicant submits at least one of SAT, ACT, IB Diploma or GCE A-Levels. There is no minimum score for these either. IB Diploma candidates do not need SAT or ACT, and EJU is accepted only for DGTech.
Applicants through admission by recommendation must meet the score requirements in that route's application guidelines.

Before you apply
Because a test centre IELTS taken more than two years before you apply will not count, time your test to the application window.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Sophia programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Sophia University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
