What TOEFL score do you need for Southern Connecticut State University?

Both sections say scores must be received within two years of the test date to be considered valid. The page dates the new-scale levels from 1 January 2026, and does not state section minimums.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS at 6 for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduate applicants.

Both levels accept an ELS Academic English Level 112 certificate of completion. Undergraduates can also use an SAT of 900 (critical reading and math) or ACT composite of 19, and graduate applicants can use an earned U.S. degree.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your SCSU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
