From SNHU's international admission requirements page, which covers on-campus study.

|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate, direct to programme | 110 | No extra English course |
| Undergraduate, direct to programme with ENG099i | 105 | ENG099i is a 3-credit developmental course |
| Graduate | 105 | Or higher |
| Doctoral | 110 | Interview also required |
How SNHU handles Duolingo scores
ENG099i counts towards your GPA but not towards the 120 credits needed to graduate. The page accepts IELTS One Skill Retake and TOEFL MyBest scores; it gives no Duolingo validity period.
These requirements apply to on-campus study. Online applicants follow a separate section and do not qualify for an F-1 visa.
For comparison, the same page sets IELTS at 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each section for undergraduates, 6.0 for graduate study and 6.0 with 5.5 in each section for doctoral study, per SNHU international admission.

If your Duolingo score is below SNHU's level
SNHU says it is not taking new ESL programme enrolments beyond the 5 May 2025 term start. The page lists completion of the appropriate level at an English Pathway Partner as an exemption, and SNHU International Admission may waive the test case by case.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your SNHU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
