TMU English levels
From TMU's master's admission guidelines for 2027-28, its graduate application page and its programme-specific requirements. On TMU's chart, B1 is IELTS 4 to 5 and B2 is IELTS 5.5 to 6.5.

Accepted tests and waivers
TMU accepts TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo and PTE Academic. You can be waived with a passport from a country where English is an official language (TMU's appendix list includes India and Singapore), a previous degree taught in English, or an English major.
The older programme-specific web page shows TOEFL iBT 71 for B2 programmes, while the 2027 guidelines say 72, so follow the guidelines.

Score dates and how to check
Scores must be from within 2 years of the application start date, for example after November 2024 for Fall 2027 entry. This guide covers graduate admission; TMU's undergraduate pages are in Chinese.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one in the current TMU application guide for your programme, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Taipei Medical University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
