TAMIU English requirements by level
From TAMIU's international admissions page and the Graduate School admissions page. Both give overall IELTS scores only.

Other tests and exemptions
The undergraduate Duolingo minimum of 100 is higher than many Texas universities ask relative to its IELTS 5.5. The graduate page does not list Duolingo, so check with the Graduate School before using it for a master's.
TAMIU does not publish an exemption list; the undergraduate page asks applicants to call the Office of Admissions on 956.326.2200 for English proficiency exemption guidelines. Transfer students with fewer than 24 college credit hours must meet the first-year requirements.

Applying and how to check
Undergraduates apply through ApplyTexas, and international students must also submit all sections of any attempted TSI placement exams. Graduate applicants must meet both the Graduate School minimums and their programme's own requirements, and some programmes, including Counseling Psychology and the PhD in International Business, have separate deadlines.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your TAMIU programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
