Native speakers and other routes
The Petroleum Engineering FAQ says native English speakers must prove that English was the medium of instruction in their secondary school education. All other applicants need one of the certificates above.
Neither page offers a medium of instruction waiver for an English-taught bachelor's. If you rely on one, ask the programme before applying.

Timing and how to check
Intelligent Manufacturing asks for the B2 proof at enrolment and admits in the winter and summer semesters. Petroleum Engineering asks for the proof before the programme starts and takes applications only through TU Clausthal's online portal.

Minimum vs competitive score
Where Clausthal University of Technology publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
