What TOEFL score do you need for the University of Arkansas?

Send TOEFL scores from ETS using institution code 6866. Tests must have been taken within the two years immediately before your requested semester of admission, and Arkansas says it accepts no other measures of English for admission beyond the listed tests.

After admission, non-native speakers are assessed on their writing scores. Students below the top writing level are placed in English Language and Culture (ELAC) writing courses, which graduate students must complete in their first year.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS Academic at 6.5 and does not accept IELTS General Training.

The page does not describe conditional admission. Exemptions are narrow: a degree from a country where English is an official language of instruction, such as India, Pakistan, Nigeria or Ghana, does not exempt you. Undergraduates who completed English Composition I and II with a C or better at an accredited US institution are exempt.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Arkansas programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
