How UWL handles TOEFL scores

UWL publishes its TOEFL minimums on the 1 to 6 scale only; this guide does not convert them to the 0 to 120 scale. Graduate requirements vary by programme, and graduate test scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application. UWL's TOEFL code is 1914. The pages do not state a MyBest policy.

For comparison, UWL asks undergraduates and non-health graduate applicants for IELTS 6.0, and health professions applicants for IELTS 7.5.

If your TOEFL score is below UWL's level

Undergraduates can meet the requirement by completing level 700 at the Wisconsin English as a Second Language Institute (WESLI). Graduate applicants may qualify for an exception based on a degree from an approved English-medium institution, attended for at least two years and earned within two years of expected enrolment.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UWL programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
