I'd like to talk about a breathtaking cliff path along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, down in the south of England. It is a rugged trail that winds right along the edge of towering limestone cliffs, overlooking the roaring ocean and jagged rock formations below.

I went there last autumn during a short weekend break with a couple of close mates. We had all been feeling pretty bogged down with work and simply needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so we decided to tackle this particular walking trail. The weather was crisp and slightly overcast, which actually added to the dramatic atmosphere of the coastline.

The scenery was absolutely spectacular. As you hike along the narrow dirt track, you get these sheer drops straight down into the churning sea, with turquoise waves crashing relentlessly against the rocky shore and hidden coves. At one point, the path opens up to reveal views of natural sea arches and ancient geological strata visible in the cliff face. You can hear seagulls calling overhead and the constant, rhythmic rumble of the surf pounding against the boulders.

Walking along that trail made me feel remarkably grounded and refreshed. Being exposed to such raw, untamed nature puts daily anxieties into perspective, to be honest. There was a genuine sense of exhilaration because of how high up we were, combined with a deep feeling of calm from taking in the fresh sea breeze and wide-open horizons. It is certainly one of the most memorable outdoor experiences I have ever had.
