Number of internet users in various Middle Eastern countries in 2017

The bar chart illustrates the number of internet users, measured in millions, across nine different countries in the Middle East as of June 2017. Overall, it is clear that Iran dominated the region in terms of internet connectivity, with a figure significantly higher than any other nation listed. In contrast, the other countries showed a much more modest range of user numbers.

Iran stood out as the clear leader, with 56.7 million internet users, which was more than double the figure for Saudi Arabia, the second-highest country at 24.15 million. Iraq followed in third place with 14 million users. These three nations accounted for the vast majority of the total internet population depicted in the chart.

In the lower half of the rankings, the United Arab Emirates recorded 8.52 million users, followed by Yemen with 6.91 million and Israel with 6.64 million. The final three countries, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, exhibited the lowest figures, with 6.3 million, 6.03 million, and 4.6 million users respectively. While there was a noticeable gap between the top three countries, the remaining nations showed a relatively consistent and gradual decrease in their internet user populations.
