Check the current PTE exam fee in India against your exact test in Pearson's booking system before paying. PTE Academic, Academic UKVI, Core and Home are different products; do not assume that a price quoted for one applies to all four.

Reviewed 20 September 2026. We have removed this article's previous fixed-price table because we have not verified a current official India quote. Use Pearson's test-centre and fee finder and confirm the final payable amount in your booking. This guide helps you check that quote, plan the total cost and prepare before test day.

What should you check in an India PTE fee quote?

  • Exact test: copy the product name required by your university, professional body or immigration route.
  • Location and currency: confirm where you will sit the test and the currency charged.
  • Total payable: record the final amount, tax information and any separately selected preparation products.
  • Date checked: save the quote date and recheck before payment.
  • Payment terms: read the cancellation rules and any voucher restrictions before using a discount.

Avoid adding tax a second time to a tax-inclusive total. Likewise, do not subtract a coupon from an advertised price until the booking checkout confirms that the code applies to your test. A practice subscription and an official exam booking are separate purchases unless an offer explicitly includes both.

We are not publishing a verified BandLadder discount code for the official exam here. For voucher checks and the cost of changing an appointment, use our PTE refunds, rescheduling and voucher guide.

How to book PTE: a practical checklist

Pearson's booking walkthrough covers choosing the test, finding a centre and appointment, creating a myPTE account, checking identification details and completing payment. Your confirmation then appears in myPTE and by email.

  1. Confirm acceptance first. Save the receiving organisation's exact test and score requirements, including component scores and evidence deadline.
  2. Compare realistic appointments. Include travel time, transport availability and any overnight stay when comparing centres.
  3. Check your identity details. Match the booking to the identification accepted under Pearson's current rules. Resolve discrepancies before booking rather than assuming test-centre staff can fix them.
  4. Review the full checkout. Verify the product, centre, date, time, currency, payable amount and any voucher deduction.
  5. Save the confirmation. Check that the confirmed appointment matches what you intended and keep the receipt with your preparation schedule.

Use Pearson's booking help for account or appointment problems. BandLadder practice access does not create a myPTE booking.

Try a PTE booking-budget exercise

Original fictional example, not a real exam fee: two suitable appointments each cost 100 budget units. The nearby centre needs 6 units of travel. The other city needs 14 units of travel and 20 for a hotel. Optional preparation costs 8 units for either choice. What is each total, and how much extra does the other city cost?

Reveal the budget calculation

Nearby: 114 units. Other city: 142 units. Difference: 28 units. Calculate 100 + 6 + 8 and 100 + 14 + 20 + 8. The advertised exam fee is identical, but the total journey cost differs.

Now replace each item with your own confirmed cost. If both appointments are suitable, compare timing and travel reliability as well as price. Keep a separate contingency for changes; do not count an expected refund as money already available.

What about late booking, cancellations and retakes?

Do not rely on this article's former blanket assurance that every late booking costs the same. Read the amount and conditions for the actual appointment. Available dates, personal deadlines and the cost of travel can matter even when the listed test fee is unchanged.

Check Pearson's current policies before changing a booking; see the worked cancellation examples. A replacement booking can require a fresh payment while an eligible refund is still outstanding. Preparing carefully can help you address weaknesses, but no practice score guarantees that you will avoid a retake.

Turn your booking deadline into a preparation plan

Write down the required overall score and each component minimum. Use the PTE score-report guide to understand your practice priorities, then choose tasks for the actual exam you need. Start with a timed attempt, review the feedback and repeat the task type after working on one specific weakness.

BandLadder offers 25k+ PTE questions across Academic and Core, plus AI practice feedback, mock tests and prediction resources. These are preparation resources, not official exam bookings or guaranteed future test questions. Check free allowances and paid plans before choosing access.
