Andrews English requirements by level
From Andrews's undergraduate freshman admissions page and graduate degree-seeking admissions page. Both apply to international and domestic applicants whose language of education is not English.

Test rules
Paper-based TOEFL is accepted only when administered by Andrews's Center for Intensive English Programs. Duolingo counts only when certified and received directly from Duolingo. All tests must be taken within two years before admission, and no band minimums are given.
The requirement depends on your language of education, not your nationality, so a student educated in English may not need a test. Check with admissions if your school or university taught in English.

ESL classes and the Language Pathway
Andrews offers ESL classes through its Center for Intensive English Programs (CIEP), but acceptance into the ESL programme does not guarantee admission to a degree. Graduate applicants can ask about the Language Pathway Program at ciep@andrews.edu. Graduate offers can also be made with stipulations, which let you start for usually one semester while you complete outstanding requirements.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Andrews programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Andrews University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
