What TOEFL score do you need for Brunel University of London?

Brunel University of London says its courses generally ask for between IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 77 and IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 98. On the new scale those levels are 4.5 and 5. Sub-score rules depend on the course. Brunel accepts TOEFL iBT and iBT at home, and lists lower TOEFL scores for its pre-sessional English and Brunel Pathway College routes.

Brunel TOEFL test rules

For tests before 23 January 2026, Brunel lists TOEFL iBT, iBT at home and iBT paper-based. For tests after that date it lists iBT and iBT at home. It also lists TOEFL ITP Plus for China, with interviews checked by Brunel. The page does not mention MyBest scores, test validity or an ETS institution code.

If your TOEFL score is below Brunel's level

Brunel says that if you do not meet the required level of English you can take one of its pre-sessional courses. The lower TOEFL columns on the page are for pre-sessional English and the Brunel Pathway College. Brunel also runs its own English test, BrunELT.
