C1 Advanced score bands

From Cambridge's results page. Each skill gets its own scale score and the average is your overall result.

If you fall short of 180

A score of 160 to 179 still gives you a certificate showing B2. That may be enough for some courses or jobs, but not for anything asking for C1 or a scale score of 180 or more.

Which score to aim for

Users often quote a scale score rather than a grade. Australia, for example, sets C1 Advanced minimums by visa level; see C1 Advanced for an Australian visa. Rules and fees change.
