What Duolingo score do you need for California Baptist University?

Both pages ask for a recent score from an approved exam. They give no exact validity period, sending instructions or teaching assistant rule. CBU reserves the right to require extra English testing or classes after a graduate student arrives.

All graduate students must also have completed ENG123 Intermediate Composition or its equivalent; otherwise they take ESL094 Advanced Academic Research in their first semester, whatever their test score.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS at 5.5 with no band below 4.5, and the graduate page sets IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.0 for master's and 8.0 for doctoral programmes.

Master's applicants below the minimum may be granted conditional admission to the Intensive English Program and a graduate programme, with language coursework before full graduate study. This is not available for all graduate programmes. Undergraduates can use other routes on the page, including MET 56, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 430, ACT English 16 or listed school-leaving English grades.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your CBU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
