Can you request a second IELTS re-mark?

No. IDP India says that once a test has been re-marked through an Enquiry on Results, the result is final and no other re-mark of the same test is permitted. IDP Australia adds that a re-mark cannot be cancelled once requested. After that, your options are a One Skill Retake, a new full test or a complaint about how the test was run.

One re-mark per test

IDP India's FAQ: once the Enquiry on Results has been re-marked, the result is final and no other re-mark for the same test is permitted (IDP India FAQ). You choose the sections when you apply, so ask for every section you want reviewed in that single request.

IDP Australia says the fee is the same whether you ask for one section or all four, and that you cannot cancel the process once requested (IDP Australia).

What you can do instead

One Skill Retake: if you took IELTS on computer and one skill is short, you can retake it within 60 days of the original test (ielts.org). Note IDP Australia's warning that you cannot request a re-mark after you have taken a One Skill Retake, so decide on the re-mark first (IDP Australia). Compare the two in re-mark or One Skill Retake.

A new full test: ielts.org says you can retake IELTS as soon as you feel ready (ielts.org).

If your concern is not the marking

A re-mark reviews how your answers were marked. If your concern is how the test was delivered, such as noise or a fault on the day, use the complaints route in how to complain about IELTS.

If something serious affected you on the day, such as illness, special consideration may give you a refund or transfer, but ielts.org says applications close two calendar days after the test and are never accepted after results are released (ielts.org). Detailed rules are set locally and can differ by country and test centre, so check your booking confirmation or ask your centre if anything here does not match what you were told.
