What Duolingo score do you need for Charles Darwin University?

The policy says that until 14 August 2027 the University accepts Duolingo for domestic applicants, onshore international applicants, and international applicants from Level 1 countries as defined by the Department of Home Affairs' Simplified Student Visa Framework. Tests are valid for two years from the test date to the date you start at CDU. The policy gives no Duolingo-specific instructions for sending scores.

For comparison, the policy's Table 1 sets Bachelor and Bachelor Honours courses at IELTS Academic 6.0 with no section below 6.0, and postgraduate study at 6.5 with no section below 6.0.

The policy lists completion of CDU ELICOS English for Academic Purposes as an alternative: EAP004 for postgraduate entry and EAP003 for undergraduate-level and VET entry. It also accepts set kinds of previous study in English.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your CDU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
