Do you need IELTS for the Chinese Government Scholarship?

Only for programmes taught in a language other than Chinese, and the score is the university's. The 2026-2027 call says applicants for those programmes provide certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL in line with each university's requirements. Chinese-taught programmes instead need HSK: level 3 for undergraduate and general scholar programmes, level 4 for master's and doctoral programmes.
