What Duolingo score do you need for Concordia University?

Undergraduate results must be less than two years old when you apply. Depending on your score, you may have to take a placement test after admission that decides whether you take English as a second language courses, usually in first year. Concordia cannot evaluate an undergraduate application without test scores, and if they are missing you have three weeks after its email to upload a copy.

In Arts and Science, programme-specific Duolingo levels include 120 overall with no part under 110 for Biotechnology (Diploma) and Economics, and above 125 for Chemistry, Child Studies, Communication Studies, Human Systems Intervention and Youth Work. Some graduate programmes admit students with additional English courses set by a Concordia placement test.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS Academic at 6 with no component under 5.5, and the graduate page asks 6.5 in Arts and Science.

Undergraduate programmes that ask for higher scores include Child Studies, Creative Writing, Early Childhood and Elementary Education, English and Creative Writing, English and History, Professional Writing and Teaching English as a Second Language. In Engineering and Computer Science, a graduate Duolingo score of 110 to 115 still leads to admission with the required English courses ENCS 5721 and ENCS 6721.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Concordia programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
