What TOEFL score do you need for East Tennessee State University?

The page sets overall scores only, with no section minimums, and does not state a MyBest, Home Edition or institution code rule. It notes that every student who receives a graduate assistantship must take an oral proficiency exam on arriving on campus.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS at 5.5 for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduates.

The page does not describe conditional admission. It lists exempt countries, exempts holders of a degree from an accredited US institution, and says the Graduate School may waive the test in rare cases, such as three years of employment in an English-only US workplace or two years of full-time US study in the past five years with a 3.0 GPA.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ETSU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
