What TOEFL score do you need for East Texas A&M University?

Undergraduate English proof must come directly from the testing agency, though TOEFL and IELTS takers can upload unofficial scores to the applicant portal for verification. The master's handbook requires scores under two years old.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. Where a page above gives only a 0 to 120 figure, that is the figure this guide reports.

For comparison, the undergraduate page and the master's handbook both set IELTS at 6.0.

Undergraduates may get a TOEFL waiver by completing the advanced level of the Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP) from the Texas International Education Consortium, among other routes. Neither page describes conditional admission.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your East Texas A&M programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
