What IELTS score do you need for ESILV?

ESILV, the engineering school at Paris La Défense, asks for IELTS 6.5 or an equivalent TOEIC, TOEFL or Cambridge score for its Master's in Engineering and its MSc programmes. With IELTS 6.0 you may still be admitted if you score above 80% at interview or hold French at B1 or above. Exemptions

Native speakers and graduates of English-taught programmes are exempt, with proof such as a letter from the school. The MSc page accepts Duolingo (not for applicants from China) or an expired previous test when a test centre is out of reach.

Intakes and fees

The Master's in Engineering has one intake in September or October; tuition is €11,400 for 2027-28. The MSc lists a Fall 2027 deadline of June 2027 and a Spring 2027 deadline of January 2027, with tuition of €13,900 to €17,800.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ESILV programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.

Minimum vs competitive score

Where ESILV publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.

Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
