What Duolingo score do you need for Flinders University?

A footnote on the page says Duolingo and LanguageCert Academic are not accepted for Nursing, Medicine, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Paramedicine and Psychology courses from 2026 onwards, even where a table row shows a score, so check your course page. The page also says IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo and Cambridge tests must be taken in a registered testing centre. The page gives no Duolingo-specific instructions for sending scores.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with 6.0 in speaking and writing for most undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Flinders also accepts successful completion of a pre-course English program from an approved ELICOS provider, and says other evidence of English proficiency may be accepted. Neither route applies to the Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Flinders programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
