What Duolingo score do you need for IE University?

Both policies list Duolingo as one of four accepted forms of proof, next to TOEFL, IELTS and Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency. The master's policy says some programmes may waive the requirement or ask for different exams. Neither policy states a validity period or sending method for Duolingo results; the master's policy asks you to provide TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or Cambridge scores as part of the application.

For comparison, the same policies set IELTS at a minimum of 7, with 7.5 recommended, and TOEFL at 100 with 105 recommended. There is no recommended level above 130 for Duolingo.

The undergraduate policy exempts applicants who studied in an English-speaking educational system (such as American high school, IB in English or A-levels) for their whole education or at least the last two years of high school, or who have lived in an English-speaking country for more than two years, pending approval. The master's policy may exempt applicants who have lived and worked for two or more years in a fully English-speaking environment. The Admissions Committee can still ask any applicant for an official certificate.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your IE University programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
