Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Basra?

Pearson's test centre finder lists no PTE centre in Basra. The nearest are IBTS in Baghdad and the University of Babylon (see our Baghdad guide).

Read on 30 October 2026 in the providers' own listings for Basra and in Pearson's price finder with Iraq selected. Pearson charges USD 290 for PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core alike, and USD 245 for PTE Home A1, A2 or B1. With only two dates to the end of 2026, Basra candidates who miss them will need to travel to Baghdad.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Iraq and PTE fee in Iraq guides.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Basra and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Register with the same identity document you will bring on test day.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport for every PTE test, and a passport is the only ID accepted if you test outside your country of citizenship, which covers most expatriate residents.

Results: IELTS on computer results usually arrive within a few days, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
